AFDF and The Lost Town Project
AFDF has recently teamed up with The Lost Town Project to conduct further research on the Whitehall Plantation on St. Margarets Road in Annapolis, Maryland. Whitehall Plantation was once a large tobacco plantation, one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in colonial Maryland. The Lost Town Project is an organization that works to uncover and preserve the history of the enslaved communities that lived and worked on plantations like Whitehall. By partnering with AFDF, they aim to bring attention to the stories and experiences of the Black people who were enslaved on the Whitehall Plantation and provide a more complete and accurate understanding of the history of the area.
